What is Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) ?

A PMA is issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to manufacturers that demonstrate their parts meet safety and quality standards. These parts are typically replacements for original equipment manufacture (OEM) parts or components used in the repair and maintenance of aircraft.

The FAA’s PMA process is an important regulatory framework in the United States that governs the manufacture and sale of replacement parts for aircraft. PMA allows companies to produce quality parts that are certified for use on aircraft.

Getting PMA approval back in 1992 was a huge turning point for us. It marked our shift from simply distributing aerospace components to actually manufacturing and selling FAA-approved parts ourselves. This change gave us much more control over our production process and let us offer just-in-time inventory at more competitive prices.
